Poland’s current account deficit widened to €2,419 million in July 2026, the largest gap since February 2022 and up from a revised €1,780 million deficit in July 2025. The figure slightly exceeded market expectations of a €2,341 million shortfall. The goods deficit increased sharply to €1,843 million from €1,063 million a year earlier, as imports rose by 13% while exports grew by a slower 10%. At the same time, the secondary income deficit expanded to €307 million from €78 million, and the services surplus narrowed to €2,722 million from €3,110 million. In contrast, the primary income deficit improved, narrowing to €2,944 million from €3,749 million.
