In terms of trade, both exports and imports from Hong Kong reached unprecedented levels in December, although the increase in imports outpaced that of exports. Despite this positive economic activity, caution remained prevalent as investors awaited China's official January PMI data, set to be released later this week. Across the board, the rise in stock prices was broad-based, with financial and property sectors leading the way with approximately 2% increases. Consumer and tech stocks also showed robust gains.
