In the three months leading up to December 2025, Brazil's unemployment rate decreased to 5.1%, a slight drop from November's 5.2%, aligning with market projections. This figure represents the lowest unemployment rate recorded in the series since 2012. Approximately 5.5 million individuals were unemployed during this period. Job growth was primarily driven by sectors such as commerce, public administration, education, health, and social services. Throughout the entire year of 2025, the unemployment rate averaged 5.6%, down from 6.6% in 2024, marking the lowest annual average since 2012. Additionally, the average number of unemployed individuals decreased year-on-year to 6.2 million, down from 7.2 million.
