14.09.202605:00:00UTC+00Finnish Inflation Edges Higher to 2.2% in August, Ticks Above July Reading

Finland’s consumer inflation picked up slightly in August, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising 2.2% year-over-year, up from 2.1% in July, according to data updated on 14 September 2026. The figures are based on annual comparisons, measuring price changes in each month relative to the same month a year earlier.

The uptick suggests that price pressures in Finland remain modest but are no longer easing, breaking the prior month’s marginally lower pace of inflation. In July 2026, prices were 2.1% higher than a year earlier; August’s 2.2% print indicates a small but notable acceleration.

While the change is incremental, the movement will be closely watched by market participants and policymakers assessing the trajectory of price growth and its implications for interest rates, wage negotiations and real household purchasing power in the Finnish economy.
